None of the members can be on the Executive Committee, on the External Academic Advisory Board or a GRC Fellow at the same time. The direction of the GRC does not overlap with the university administration. The university administration rather councils the GRC and in turn accepts and actualizes proposals from the Executive Committee. Furthermore, the Executive Committee annually reports on the GRC to the President and the Senate. Five years after its foundation, the work of the GRC is evaluated. On the basis of this evaluation the Senate of the Johannes Gutenberg University decides on the continuation of the GRC.
